I got another jab of Tetanus after almost 15 years since my first dose. The doctor decided to inject me as she was afraid the previous one did not working out. Ouuuchhhhh! A bit hurt too....:( (macam kanak-kanak pulak!)
What is Tetanus? From PubMed information, tetanus caused by a deadly bacteria from soil which activated once it enter our body. Well, as you already knew from my previous post (in Malay), I have mentioned about my accident falling from the bike. So the open wounds most likely expose to the spore of bacteria Clostridium tetani (C. tetani) which produce toxin that could affect the nerves and muscles.
Tetanus causes lockjaw and the some of the symptoms that I already had were fever, excessive sweating for the last few days and uncontrolled urinations.
Currently, I am still struggling with my injured wrist and limping leg. The wounds are now almost recovered and hope to be back to work soon!
So thanks for the injection Doc! It could have save my life!
